Barstool Sports

American sports media company

Summary

Barstool Sports, Inc. is an American blog and digital media company founded in 2003 by Dave Portnoy, which grew from a free Boston-area print sports paper into a nationally recognized brand centered on sports journalism, pop culture, and personality-driven content. It became especially influential through its podcasts, social media presence, and loyal fanbase of 'Stoolies,' while also expanding into merchandise, live events, food and beverage brands, and sports betting partnerships. An employee of a company whose founder is noted for his support for law enforcement falsely accused LEO's of murder in a highly publicized incident which received national news coverage. Saying this isnt "noteworthy" is a stretch. And barstool is referenced via the logo in Mannion's X profile she used to make the accusation.

Per the request a couple of weeks ago, I have added a secondary source (the Hill article outlining the resolution of the Minnesota shooting specifically referenced in Mannion's tweet) with the primary source (Mannion's own words). None of the officers Mannion referenced have convicted of - nor even charged with - murder. Happy to discuss adjustments if needed.
